The Movers And Shakers pay homage to Queen Elizabeth II on her Platinum Jubilee.
Loyal subjects of Queen Elizabeth II gathered together to enjoy a fun packed afternoon at The Casino, in Almoradí, to celebrate Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee, on June 3rd.
The room was decked with Royal decorations including bunting, balloons, and flags and guests donned themselves with various colours of red, white and blue.
During luncheon, Paul Harris, local guitarist played a mixture of music for the guests. Then at 3PM they were entertained by The Costa Blanca Morris Dancers. For many, this was a complete surprise — bringing a little of British tradition to the occasion.
People stood to toast the Queen, singing the National Anthem, before sampling the special iced cake and muffins, made by members of the Committee of The Association.
The event raised just under €300.
Barbecue raises €1065
Residents new and old from Residencia El Parque, El Bañet enjoyed the delicious food which was prepared and cooked by Joey, chef from La Cosecha Restaurant in Benijofar with the help of Veronica. This was followed by a selection of "golden oldies", played by DJ Barry Young, which gave everyone a chance to dance for the first time in 2 years.
